A graduate of the University of South Wales, Salokangas spent years founding companies and communities rather than technical products. When artificial intelligence became broadly accessible, she taught herself to use it, an experience that reshaped her view of who gets to participate in the AI economy and directly inspired the founding of Mia AI.
As Co-Founder and CEO, Salokangas has positioned Mia AI as a human-AI capability platform aimed squarely at closing the gender gap in emerging technology. The company’s stated goal is to empower one million women with AI skills by 2030, delivering training and implementation support to both individuals and organizations. Mia’s Learning Network launched in beta with participants representing more than 60 companies, and the platform has since worked with a mix of public and private institutions to build practical AI fluency among non-technical professionals.
Salokangas’s influence extends beyond Mia AI itself. She is a founding partner of Women of the Future, a publishing project spotlighting 100 global women shaping emerging technology, and co-founder of Finnish Flow, an initiative connecting Finland’s business community to the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos. She has appeared at Davos alongside figures including Cherie Blair, discussing AI’s role in expanding opportunity.
