As nations worldwide grapple with dependence on foreign-controlled artificial intelligence infrastructure, Faisal Saleem has emerged as a distinctive voice in Pakistan’s push toward technological self-reliance. As Co-Founder and Chief AI Officer of GalaxAI Solutions, based in Rawalpindi, Saleem has dedicated his career to building AI systems that keep sensitive national data within Pakistan’s borders rather than routed through Western cloud hyperscalers.
Saleem’s technical foundation traces back to a Master of Computer Science earned at Preston University between 2002 and 2003, a credential that set him on a multi-decade path through enterprise software and systems integration. Prior to co-founding GalaxAI, he built substantial experience across roles at LogicEra, a cloud and AI partner firm, as well as at EZShifa Private Limited, CodiFica Inc., and Sobah Systems, giving him exposure to both healthcare technology and broader enterprise digital transformation before pivoting fully into artificial intelligence infrastructure.
At GalaxAI Solutions, an Islamabad-based technology company, Saleem has helped position the firm at the center of Pakistan’s emerging sovereign AI ecosystem, an initiative aligned with the government’s broader billion-dollar investment in domestic AI capacity. The company has engaged directly with Pakistan’s higher education sector, including a recent collaboration with the University of Okara to explore agentic AI adoption for academic and administrative operations, reflecting GalaxAI’s strategy of embedding sovereign AI infrastructure within public institutions rather than confining it to private enterprise.
Saleem has also stepped into the role of public educator and advocate, appearing in media interviews to explain why sovereign AI matters for a country navigating geopolitical and data-security risks tied to reliance on foreign AI providers. His work reflects a conviction shared across Pakistan’s technology policy circles: that genuine digital sovereignty requires not just infrastructure investment, but homegrown expertise capable of building, deploying, and sustaining AI systems independently, a mission Saleem continues to advance from within Pakistan’s growing AI sector.
