Korawad Chearavanont, Founder and CEO of Amity Solutions, built a Bangkok-based AI company while still in his early twenties, coming from one of Thailand’s most prominent business families. He is the son of Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group, and grandson of CP Group senior chairman Dhanin Chearavanont — placing him within a family Forbes has ranked as the second-richest in Thailand. Korawad studied at the Lawrenceville School before attending Columbia University as a history major, leaving in 2015 to pursue entrepreneurship full-time.
In 2012, at just 19 years old, Korawad founded Amity — originally called Eko Communications — as a mobile chat app, taking a year off from school to do so. The company steadily expanded its product line to include Eko, an engagement and automation platform, and later added chatbot capabilities through its acquisition of ConvoLab, along with video and social features. Amity built a client base spanning industries from healthcare to fitness to sports platforms, with operations extending well beyond Thailand to offices in Miami, Milan, and London.
In 2023, Korawad repositioned the company’s subsidiary, Amity Solutions, to focus specifically on generative AI applications built on top of its existing SaaS products, betting that the real opportunity lay not in building foundational large language models, but in applying GPT-style technology to solve concrete business problems. That shift proved successful: Amity Bots Plus, one of its flagship generative AI products, saw eight-fold growth in annual recurring revenue within a year of its GenAI relaunch.
Under Korawad’s leadership, Amity Solutions and its parent company raised a combined $60 million Series C round in 2024, and the company’s GenAI work has been highlighted publicly by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. With roughly 35-40% of its revenue generated in Thailand — serving banks, government agencies, and major CP Group companies — Amity continues to expand toward Singapore and beyond, with Korawad positioning the company to help establish Thailand as a regional hub for generative AI innovation.
