Hamza Chishti’s career reflects a steady climb through some of the most demanding corners of enterprise technology before landing him in a senior leadership role at Microsoft. A graduate of Pakistan’s National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Chishti built his early career as a technology consultant across aviation, banking, and education, holding roles at Etihad Airways, Mashreq Bank, and Pearson between 2011 and 2015.
His trajectory then moved deeper into global finance. As a Senior Technology Consultant at Credit Suisse, he contributed to strategic risk initiatives, and at JPMorgan Chase he worked on a reporting platform within the Asset Management division. He also took on architecture-focused engagements with Barclays, working on elastic-search infrastructure, before joining Avanade — Accenture and Microsoft’s joint technology venture — as a Technology Lead.
Chishti joined Microsoft directly in November 2018 as a Cloud Solutions Architect, advancing to Senior Cloud Architect the following year. Since September 2021, he has served as Director of Digital & App Innovation, a role in which he also carries the title of CTO, Professional Services, based out of Microsoft’s New York office. In this capacity, he works with enterprise clients on cloud modernization, application innovation, and Azure-based digital transformation strategy.
His work has earned him a Microsoft Gold Club Award, an internal recognition for top-performing consulting talent, and certification as an Azure Solutions Architect Expert. He has been publicly recognized in Pakistani technology and entrepreneurship media as a “Pride of Pakistan” for his standing at Microsoft, and he remains active in mentoring professionals — notably offering resume reviews and career guidance to workers affected by layoffs in Pakistan’s tech sector. Beyond his client-facing work, Chishti is frequently invited to speak at technology and startup events in Pakistan, reflecting his continued engagement with the region’s growing digital ecosystem even while based abroad.
